TRUE HISTORY, the “Religion of Peace” Part One "THE FACTS"

To try and not make this so long, I give you here, an Abridged History of the first 486 years of the “Religion of Peace”. Unfortunately, facts are funny things, sometimes there a lot of them and you can’t tell the story in two paragraphs. I have highlighted the wars of expansion across the Arabian Peninsula and into Asia Minor. Across northern Africa to western Africa and the coast. Across the Medeteranian and into western Europe. This time line runs from the the moment Mohammed had his vision of the Angel Gabriel in the cave on Mt. Hira, to the time when Pope Urban II calls for the first Crusade

The Muslim apologizers will tell you:

“War was the exception rather than the rule in Islam.”
”At times, force had to be used to maintain peace.”
”Islam stands for peace. However, it allows its followers to fight where there is oppression.”

“The fight against oppression may, at times, require the use of force. “

“In fact, in Islam, force is used to restore peace and justice.”

-

The British historian De Lacy O’Leary said:

"History makes it clear however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of the sword upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd myth that historians have ever repeated."

THE FACTS

-

For the better part a thousand years, Europe was under a constant threat from invading Muslims.

In the early centuries of Islam it was double the threat. Not just the threat of invasion and conquest, but also the threat of conversion and assimilation, or in many cases slaughter. All but the easternmost provinces of the Islamic world around the area of the Indus Valley had been taken from Christian rulers.

The great majority of the first Muslims west of Iran and Arabia, were converts from Christianity.

North Africa, Egypt, Syria, even Persian-ruled Iraq, had been Christian countries, in which Christianity was older and more deeply rooted than it had been in most of Europe.

-

“Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But God knoweth, and ye know not.” (Quran, 2:216)

-

“But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, then open the way for them: for God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Quran, 9:5)

-

“Fight those who believe not in God nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by God and His Apostle, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, [even if they are] of the People of the Book (Christians and Jews), until they pay the jizya [tribute] with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” (Quran, 9:29).

-

“When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to [accept] Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them. ... If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax [jizya], seek Allah’s help and fight them.”

(Sahih Muslim, Book 19, Number 4294.)

-

Many so called idolaters were not allowed to pay the jizya [tax]. They were forced to either convert or die. In spite of the spin of western liberal interpretations, it is clear that military jihad, whether in its expansionist form, or in it’s political form, is an integral part of Islam.

-

Modern western liberals and Muslims desperate to rewrite history and the image of Islam, have reinterpreted jihad as defensive warfare. These people would have you believe the Sword Verses commanding Muslims to slay the pagans were directed not at unbelievers in general, but only at the hostile Jews, or Christians and Arab polytheists who fought against Mohammed. They suggest these people would not submit because of intolerance and that they hated Mohammed and his religion.

-

Other Muslim writers have tried to counter the issue by denying expansionist jihad , or are even trying to redefine defensive jihad. A growing number of Islamic fundamentalists believe that those spreading this interpretation are defeatists and apologetic. They have resurrected the interpretation of jihad as the ongoing “Islamic World Revolution.”
