“Maybe in the lead role, maybe the running mate. Hey, he’s already been in the White House anyway,” one strategist said to the other.
Indeed, Mr. Emanuel, 54, was senior policy and strategy advisor for President Bill Clinton, and appointed White House Chief of Staff by President Obama. Similar rumors have surfaced about Mr. Emanuel for three years, and from major news organizations. He has so far dismissed the idea he’d run.
“I have a high regard for Rahm Emanuel. It is not an easy . To manage a city like Chicago with so many disparate parts to it is not an enviable task. I think that he is as qualified as anybody, but boy, it’s like being the president of the United States,” Mr. Redford said in an interview with the network before the series began.
“This series could have all the makings of a national political rebrand,” he adds.

The 53-year-old Emanuel, who is busy raising money for his 2015 reelection campaign in the Windy City, has had discussions both over the phone and face to face in the past month with Democratic Party donors and fundraisers about a possible White House run
Chicago Huffington Post 2/22/2014:
Good thing Rahm Emanuel isn't the sensitive type: A new poll indicates there is little love for the Chicago mayor, with just a measly two percent of Chicagoans "strongly" approving of the "Rahmfather."
The Crain's poll notes it's Illinoisans outside Chicago that harbor a far less favorable view of Emanuel compared to Windy City residents; chalk it up to the mayor's "hardball image," his Chicago-centric agenda on gun control and generally progressive stance on issues that chafe more conservative residents downstate.
It is also noted that Chicago keeps track of Emanuel's foul mouth with:
"The Rahm Emanuel Foul mouth File"
First he should dismantle the Chicago Boss Daly political "machine" then try his luck goin after the chi-town mafia for a complete cleanup....WHAT? then where would our contributions come from???
if we thought obama had a dirty campaign and voting fraud, this Rahm idiot will put all others to shame. chicago style politics on the move. hillary would not want to go up against that group. what a bad prez he would make. commie, queer, payoffs, deadly. lots of stuff here to think about.
Patriot Eagle: an old joke comes to mind...If God was going to give the world an enema---where would he stick the tube??? Fist choice washdc then a close second for chicago...
I am of the mind that it just might be a good thing that Emanuel would run for POTUS or be ask to serve as a VP or in some other capacity for a demo candidate. Chicago conjurers up negative images not for one race bu all races. Blacks and Latino's, at least some, very dismayed with Emanuel, so having him om the Dems ticket a plus I should think.
PG great post...RE if nominated would get slammed bammed and crammed...Bushys little terrier could beat that crook..
